Modbus_RTU
Modbus_RTU
Category: Industrial
Overview
Modbus RTU is the serial variant of Modbus using RS-485 or RS-232 physical layer. It is the most widely deployed industrial protocol, connecting PLCs to sensors, drives, and I/O modules. The RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) framing uses binary encoding with CRC-16 error checking and 3.5-character silent intervals for message delimiting.
